After we loose in war for independence, Ukraine were divided by 5 countries: Czechoslovakia, Poland, Romania, Hungary and USSR.
Next forces which goal was to build independent Ukraine from ash we'll see in Second World War.
This forces mainly were in alliance with Axis.
Ukrainian Insurgent Army is armored forces of OUN(Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists).
Their main enemies: poles, soviets, axis(after removed alliance). Actively fighted until 1954.
Ukranian military units in Germany were presented by volontiers of 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galician).
Today's ukranian army forces where created on base of soviet one.
extensively reformed and reorganised they again fight for our independence.
Ukraine stands because infantry stands.

Today is 6 of May, The day of AFU's infantry, so we will speak about first ukranian infantry.
If we speak about men with a guns, they was Cossacs, but it's only works for our national mith. Because even when they related and our olders, there wasn't an idea of nation in that times.
Next army forces will come only in times of 20th centure, when Ukrainian Sich Riflemen formed. They'll take fights on eastern front under command of Austro-Hungary. There also were groups in russian army, but they weren't separeted.
Ukrainian Galician Army were formed in 1918 year after collaps of Austro-Hungary on base of USR, they defended WUPR(West Ukrainian People's Republic) and in future will join to reds.
Ukrainian People's Republic also had their infantry.
There were a lot of smaller local forces the larges of them was Makhno's army(Anarcho-comunism).
