It was still merged into systemd, quickly, and the responses from the big distro maintainers have been less than confidence building.
Too many so willing to comply and excuse it with "it's just a little thing" "It can be ignored", but the real issue is that when the law is proven ineffective, amendments are made, think 'scope creep' for law.
A number of distros have come out and said they will not comply, and in the case of Artix Linux, never comply. So stick with those.
FOSS community was never this pliant / willing to sell out so easily.
