i did, but it's been a while. i've been meaning to get back in since the update that changed how caves and layer depth works. it's kind of shocking that microsoft did not destroy minecraft and it's even prospered under their ownership. i guess there needs to be an exception to make the rule

Also, Microsoft only changes Bedrock (Pocket Edition) now. They have added micro-transactions and made the platform objectively worse.

Java edition (OG PC Minecraft edition) is still really good!

Minecraft: Java edition is still entirely operated by Mojang, in Stockholm, Sweden compared to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (formerly Minecraft: Pocket Edition) which has moved to Redmond, Washington, United States in 2018.

I don't remember who exactly said this statement, but somebody once got invited to Bedrock's office and they described it as really corporate but when he went to Mojang's office (Java) he said something along the lines of "[Mojang's office] still operates as a indie development.. [studio]"

Minecraft: Education Edition also applies to this philosophy, with services such as MakeCode Arcade being included.

The only features (probably) inspired by Microsoft are the chat restriction updates (due to UK law), Microsoft account migration (hopefully you've migrated your account, if not: your account will be terminated) and the "official" Minecraft server list.

In conclusion, Microsoft has only made changes to Pocket Edition and isn't planning on making Java worse any time soon.
