continuing on Frankenstein:

since childhood he liked ancient philosophers. he went into a university in Switzerland to 'get out of his comfort zone'(parents formulated it accordingly to their time but the meaning was same). His professor told that ideas of greek and latin scientists were bullshit. The author liked his first lecture on chemistry and later asked for some cool modern books.

thoughts of the way science is going. Victor thinks scientist should advance their knowledge even through some questionable means. So he thought of himself as capable of creating life itself or at least inquiring into its nature. He decided to animate a 8' monster.
surprisingly I understand (almost) everything in the text! Don't get me wrong, I know english fairly well as a second language. The novel is written not so long ago(1818). The speech is notably different from today. Yet despite all this, I am reading it with relative ease
