Or at least in part the fault of the parents/guardians for not putting up better safeguards for their children…? I don’t wanna let kids see any of it either, but that kinda “surveillance state” shit with all the other apps is why many people are here in the first place; lack of both censorship and data harvesting are the main marketing lines for the site, and effectively policing either point you’re discussing would likely undermine that.
Also, potential hot take… considering there’s a lack of DMs for predators to start grooming minors in, and the fact that everything is entirely text-based, which eliminates the unsolicited photo/video worry… honestly one of the less harmful platforms out there if you ask me, all things considered. Ain’t perfect, but it certainly ain’t a Discord or Twitter/X. Or Instagram.
(Personally, I just like the simplified aesthetic/UI and the lack of attention-hooking algorithms. Hornyposting and less of my data going to gov’t/corpos are just extra bonuses to me.

while i agree, whether you like it or not this is a site full of queer people, pretty well known for not having supportive parents

As a queer person myself who has conservative parents who largely left me with unrestricted internet access in the early 2010’s, I agree, you make a fair point. It’s not an ideal situation. I could be wrong in saying this, but I don’t currently see any way of the devs doing it that will a) be effective or b) keep the vision for the site intact.
And also, to your point… for most hornyposters on here that I’ve seen, it seems they use hornyposting as a form of expressing queer identity/culture and sharing that joy with others. I’m not sure I’d want to take that away, especially in this day and age where that’s so hard to come by. It’s complicated, I suppose, but I don’t see this site as being any more dangerous than any of the other sites available to minors, especially seeing as everything here is public.
