Hi! I would just like to clarify that GDP would actually probably increase here, as government spending both doesn't factor into GDP and would actually increase it. This is because GDP is calculated simply by summing the numerical value of all goods and services produced in a given country in a given year. (Macroeconomics, Campbell et al. 2024)
