God I love characters with no autonomy. No freedom. Never even experienced it. Made to follow orders yet intentionally crafted with a rebellious spirit. Like a cruel, ironic joke. Imagine your soul being specifically sculpted to crave freedom, for it to be such a deep rooted and central part of you only for your entire existence being a means to an end.
What's even worse, is that you PHYSICALLY cannot reject orders. Programmed or otherwise, it's impossible to gain the independence you yearn for. But you don't know anything else, do you? All these feelings, these emotions aren't yours to have. Because your purpose isn't to live, it's to succeed. You've never viewed yourself as human or sapient. Just ones and zeros. Because that's all you'll ever be. It's all you know how to be.
