Just found an old copy of the rainbow fish and remembered how much I fucking hated that book and its message that if you have anything unique or special about you you must give up parts of yourself to satisfy others or you’ll have no friends…

Feel like the giving tree also does this but in a much more nuanced way that makes it clear that it is a bad thing and you souls just cut out those people or you’ll lose everything about yourself
