i think you're misunderstanding my argument. i'm not saying that you shouldn't start in a capitalist country and must start from scratch (which would be essentially impossible as you said), but that you should come up with a system that could realistically scale when forced to start in a capitalist country, which i don't believe this system is capable of. maybe i'm just not understanding your plan idk. anyways the effort is commendable but i just don't see this making a big difference. i'd be quite happy to be proven wrong, i agree that capitalism is an extremely flawed system and that we need a new one, i just don't think that this is the new one that would work

There are plenty of thriving communes in the US and other countries already, regardless of how hard it is or the risks that come with it, it is better than doing nothing.

yeah i agree that it's better than nothing. i don't think it will work on a large scale but on a small scale the commune model you describe can definitely work and is good. just unfortunate that it leaves most of the world under capitalism

I think it actually would work best in large scale. The more people, the more people that work, the less time people have to work while still generating enough resources for the whole of the community while also having extra, the larger it gets the better it gets because the easier it gets for everyone else.

well firstly i don't see how your math works (e.g. if it take 100 people each working 35 hours a weeks to support 100 people, wouldn't it also take 10000 each working 35 hours a week to support 10000 people? the need for resources and the amount of people are proportional), but also, my main issue with a large scale was the need for industrialization. in small communes, industrialization isn't particularly necessary, but when more people join it is, and i don't see how you will achieve that
