ok, i believe i have found four main causes of most issues with capitalism, and will try to find working solutions later. let me know if you can think of others that don't fall within these four:
1. capital compounds faster than labor, leading wealth to accumulate at the top and wages not to rise nearly as fast
2. labor markets are not competitive, there are only a few large employers in any field or geographic region and they are often (implicitly) working together to pay workers less than what their labor is worth
3. markets are only successful at pricing what is easy to measure and trade, and generally underprice what is diffuse, delayed, or unowned such as pollution, mental health damage, and community destruction, with companies that ignore these appearing to be more profitable, hurting all people
4. wealth leads to political influence, ensuring that the wealthy stay wealthy and get wealtheir at the expense of everyone else
