june being pride month is in memory of the stonewall riots, you can look it up but basically police were arresting a lot of queer people in a particular city where the mayor was really really homophobic and there were a lot of queer people who didnt appreciate being discriminated against so they rioted about it and it became really well known for some reason
it was over 50 years ago but people still experience homophobia/it's illegal in some countries so it's nice to show support for them
