Henry Nowak's murder has been exploited by racists despite his family begging them not to.

Beside the murderer, Vickrum Digwa, the police didn't take seriously Nowak's repeated plea "I've been stabbed." We can't speculate whether paramedics could have arrived in time to save Nowak, but the police's callous dismissal of his claim does suggest that they couldn't be arsed to deal with the situation properly.

For this reason, it seems justified for anger to be directed towards the police. But there remains the question of what exactly should change in _policing_ on the whole to reduce the frequency of people dying when hastier action could save them.
