btw, it's such a bizzare experience to play quake as a person who grew up playing valve games and seeing the little similarities between the engines.
like most of the console commands being the same, the controls being so similar to hl1, the grenade and rocket launchers are really close to tf2.

i don't really get all the recent Quake hype. i mean, the game is fascinating from a historical and technical standpoint and the mods might be actually fun, but the original game? idkkkkkk, it's definitely decent but i wouldn't call it capital F "FUN". I've just finished the first chapter and it may be just my ULTRAKILL burnt brain, but i would probably not be playing it if it wasn't for the cultural significance. It just doesn't really hold up for me. Planning to play Arcane Dimensions and Brutalist Jam III later, maybe these are more interesting.
