the same goes for ultrasonic rodent repellers for cars. they are often ineffective. if a car mechanic wants you to buy one, DON'T. it's a scam.
it's also worth noting that they can be quite a bother for other humans. i can hear those repellers, and so can many other people. if i could, i would ban them and tell their manufacturers to fuck off.

based on scientific studies and expert reviews, infrasound and ultrasound devices for scaring away birds generally do not work.
even if a sound device is audible to birds, they will eventually become accustomed to it if it does not present a real danger.
