oh btw, i'm currently trying to choose between XMPP & mumble to host on my server and propose to my friends as an alternative to discord/telegram. So, people who used either, which one do you think would be better considering the circumstances?

i've already managed to convince them to switch to matrix/element before, but about a month later the gov-t banned most public servers or is jamming the protocol itself with dpi (i'm not sure) + it turned out that element's calling infra is centralized and self hosting it is pretty hard. we're currently using steam's voice calls but it's a matter of time till that gets banned too. so i'm targeting reliability, number of servers, likeliness of it getting banned and voice calls. also a solutionfor screen sharing would be nuce, but it's prolly too much to ask for.

SO, with all of this in mind, which one's better?
