well, it wasn't the first time we talked about oss and linux specifically. they already knew i love linux and i've been bothering them to switch for some time now.

the main points were: what's the appeal? and why would an average user care?

i explained how little control and knowlege about what's running you actually have on windows, how much trust the user puts in the vendor when the OS is close-sourced and how microsoft's monopoly is preventing users from even trying out anything but windows.

i told them how using and supporting oss is a way for me to stay in control and be sure that my system's not doinf anything behind my back.

the usability wasn't a point in discussion since they've already tried endeavourOS once, but didn't switch, so they know that modern linux is on-par with windows on that front.

i love my friends. fuck big corpos. keep up the good fight >:3
