and honestly, the people who are "weirdos" might actually get your intention better than you think. plenty of people who like unconventional problematic topics do understand the themes more than people who see a fucked up thing and take it as blanket approval of the fucked up thing

i get where youre coming from but i was generally speaking of people who only wish to see something that was not intended to be there in a self-indulgent and harmful way . for example the topic carries ( warning ) pedophilic ideas ( that's not what im creating but just to set an example ) . some people would call the creator weird for making this , some people would understand what they were trying to say with this media , and some people who i originally called "weirdos" were gonna see some kind of satisfication in this . which is horrible and i do not wish for people like this to see something i didnt mean to put there .
but youre right overall . i totally agree with you . sadly people tend to seriously "hunt down" and cancel whoever they dislike , so i keep it low .

people do the same shit with Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. some people goon to it. some people recognise it as satire. puritans will clutch their pearls and say it shouldn't exist.

honestly even if you live your life trying to appear as pure and normal as possible, people who hunt folks to cancel them over this shit do it more out of a sense of wanting control in a world that affords them very little control, and looking for 'wins' for justice when there's not as much of that in the world as we'd want.
that rots their hearts and makes everyone an enemy, and the dopamine reward of 'winning' rots them harder.
so if they want to make you a target, they'll find a way to make you a target.
ergo; do what you know is right for you and your art, and if they come for you, you know your heart and intentions. stick by them.
