I was listening to Welcome to Nightvale (im only on episode 2) and I love that sponsor segment bit. Like imagine in the next video you watch, instead of the youtuber selling you something, the "and now a word from our sponsor," is followed by the reading of some ominous and dark poem. the background music gets more and more intense but before we get to the crescendo, the sponsor segment ends, and its just a fever trip all the way through.
BETTER YET, different youtubers are contacted, and each of them recite entirely different texts and you must find each of their videos, find each of the "sponsored segments" and piece them in the right order to unveil a story or something. Each sponsor segment seems like a fever dream, but if you piece them together they make a coherent story.
Honestly, if I get super rich, im gonna do just this! Pay a bunch of lesser-known youtubers and instead of making them promote a vpn, they all take part in this weird arg, that way their channel can get more attention too
