New Fragnesia Linux Kernel LPE Grants Root Access via Page Cache Corruption
A new Linux kernel local privilege escalation (LPE) vulnerability, codenamed Fragnesia and tracked as CVE-2026-46300, allows unprivileged users to gain root access by exploiting the XFRM ESP-in-TCP subsystem. Fragnesia poses a significant risk as it can be exploited by unprivileged users to gain root access on multiple major Linux distributions without needing additional privileges.
