Argh vespertine is so cool !! Coccoon was the first Bjork song I remember, it is so special. I saw a comment somewhere that it's so intimate that it feels like something we shouldn't be allowed to hear, like we're intruding.
Vespertine is hard to top imo, but every album has things you can really enjoy.
Homogenic definitely has the most interesting sounds and a very broad musical pallette (Hunter, Joga, Alarm call), makes me want to go to iceland feverishly.
Debut is very playful but has excessively beautiful and pretty moments (like someone in love, anchor song)
Post is wonderful too, and vulnicura feels wonderfully mature. It's all at your own leisure of course, hard to track down a direction with bjork hahaaa

I think i might pick Homogenic next then, because I too don't know what I wanna listen to, so why not a project that has a bit of everything?

also, I love artists where you just can't be sure what their genre or style is because they're just so versatile. Aurora is another such artist whose work I just adore! I know she's also very inspired by Bjork. That's how I found out about Bjork in the first place.

I so agree about versatility. Artists that make huuuge changes to their sound and genre are infinitely valuable to me. It's like when metal bands surprise me with really chilled out songs etc etc, or when someone does a cover you wouldn't expect them to do or something. Feels we are being spoiled :)

plus, if an artist changes things up a lot then you never know what you're gonna get each time you listen to a new song. its so exciting. Plus artists who can genuinely do justice to multiple different genres are just so impressive
