Yeah…

It’s a post apocalyptic world in ruins with Kaiju running around everywhere. I don’t remember the show in detail but politicians don’t exist anymore.

It’s like that meme that goes “When we have to rebuild society after the apocalypse but there aren’t any HR Managers around T_T ”

Lmao HR Managers is hilarious.
But ooh that seems like an interesting setting for the story, I imagine different groups have different jaegers? And if that’s the case then for sure there are wars between the groups over who has the better mech and more resources…that creates such an interesting dynamic in the world. You have to fight kaijus and other people from other groups because now tribalism has kicked in too, interesting. And you said this is a show so I imagine they’ll give different elements of the show more time to cook, more space to flesh everything out. I’M EXCITED NOW!!

Yess! They explore both the Jaeger program and Kaiju a lot more, you get to see some old pilot training procedures and also some different types of Kaiju too.

There was even a Kaiju worshipping cult iirc, it is a very cool show for sure.

that's what I was wanting from the film but obviously the movie can only give you so much due to time restrictions. A show is kinda perfect.

I feel like movies for this sort of thing is just to whet your apetite. A proof of concept that the makers can use to get funding for the actual bigger project they probably wanted to make in the first place., yknow what i mean?

Mostly that they made it just like any other action movie.

PR was unique in the way that the movie really made you feel the size and weight of the Jaegers and Kaiju.

When you watch the second movie and see a Jaeger do a jumping spinkick off of the side of a building, I can’t do anything else but look in disappointment. They turned something amazing they had into any other generic action flick -_-

ahh...that fucking sucks.
did the second film have the same director? How'd he massacre his own baby like that? That's so cruel

sucks to see an authentic thing turn the same as its generic counterpart, but at least we got a cool new tv show out of it before it went to shit! (i assume that's the timeline, anyway...PR1, tv show, then PR2)
