me too, honestly!

i hope that even as more people join, people stay nice on here and continue being kind to each other. Its so cool to see this sort of place on the internet, because most other places are cespools by now. Just terrible. it seems like on Instagram being mean is the new funny, on twitter people are straight up heinous. Bluesky in somewhat fine, i think? But either way, I try to stay away from all those platforms just cause everything is really messy rn. We live in turbulent times. Char seems to be quite the shining star, even if quite early in its life, in the other wise dark sky of social media. So i'm happy to be here!

Same here.
And I hope as new ones come, they will soak up this atmosphere instead of infecting it.

I hope the people not belonging here will either leave by themselves or just get muted by most of us who are tired of the continuous BS and so they will not have any impact.

Also need to note that the bot filter is pretty good here, so hopefully less spam, etc. will come.

true. That's the best case scenario that new people will become a part of this atmosphere and instead of changing it or becoming mean, the atmosphere rubs off onto them.

And yeah, I mean, I haven't seen any bots around, and frankly I don't think that should even be a problem because the developer of char, their name's choom, seems to just want to make a real, authentic place for people to hang out. To their credit, they seem like a really genuine person, from what little interactions I've had with them.

typically bots come into play when a developer wants to buff up their numbers, or perhaps a user wants to add more followers, but that stuff only really happens on platforms you can gain any kind of money on, char isn't like that and as long as char remains just a place to hang out and chat and not a place to make money from, I don't think we'd see many bots around.

Yes, this is the way.
As long there are no incentives or interests, then hopefully it will be left alone.

The dev seems to be the right guy for doing this, especially if we consider the initiative behind all this.

I also believe that just like stupidity, kindness is infectious too.
