This whole thread feels... unnecessarily reductive, to say the least, and is a pretty juvenile way of sorting massive groups of people. I'm getting '15 year old's first delve into centrism' from this given some of the wording here (the constant use of "ideology" and conflating "sexual" with "LGBT" is especially awkward). I DO think "where does queerness fit into other cultures built with strict gender roles in mind?" is an important conversation to have-- so I'm not shutting this down, but I really don't agree with the idea that "ethnic leftism" and queerness are socially incompatible at all.
I don't have much room here, so I can't go too in-depth. I guess I'll go with an obvious "other cultures are not a monolith" spiel. Brown queer people are thrown under the bus all the time, both by their own people for being 'deviants' and by whites (cishet or queer) who just don't give a fuck about them. Also there are like, out and proud lesbian Muslims out there dude. Homo/transphobia isn't a need for any culture.
