I used to think that the universe was unthinking and neutral on our suffering, but if you see consciousness as part of the universe, fundamental to it like gravity is. Then, it becomes a part of everything.

So, in that case, the possibility appears that universe isn't so neutral and may be ever so slightly, at the very base level, good.
