I wonder if being alive pre-1940’s made one feel more significant. Think about it, since then the population has ballooned eight-fold. Just how significant might I feel if I was 1 in a billion not 1 in 8 billion? (this is of course assuming that civil rights and equality were enacted much earlier for this hypothetical, if that wasn't the case there wouldn't be much of a question)
