I think she makes a pretty decent argument. Consciousness requires self awareness and AI doesn't seem fully self aware.

There's one problem with it.

The same argument she made about AI not being self aware can be made for humans. Specifically, humans confabulate explanations for things also.

If confabulation in humans is not a good argument against humans being conscious or self aware, then it's not good for AI also.
