You’ve heard me say that cynicism is free and it is a cage, but also I say, idealism is a trap.

The idealist mostly has the right answers, but avoiding doing harm when that will lead to others doing more harm is a worse evil.

This principle is clear in self-defence and perhaps quarantine, but less so in economic policy and war.
