See, shit like this makes me so mad: "Here, I've become a woman; a landscape of belly, buttocks and thighs. I am a mountain. With no one to scale me." -- A woman, only through the physical appearance of the parts that are deemed sexual. A woman, a "mountain"- a natural masterpiece- with no one to "scale" (conquer) her (body).
Branding this as "self-love" and "discovery" is just another way of telling women that they are creatures designed to be sexual objects, just backhandedly.
In addition, phrases such as "become a man/woman" are just ways to separate sexes and define gender norms as becoming whole- accepting gender roles- instead of becoming an individual. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

"I take off my nightdress, leave it in a pool on the floor and look at my naked body. I'm a landscape of hills, valleys, and creaks. I was meant to live here in the country. I've become solid. Now I AM a country. Here, I've become a woman; a landscape of belly, buttocks and thighs. I am a mountain.
With no one to scale me"
- one of my fav passages ever. Guess the book it comes from, if you so dare!
