“Why do I smile like that?” I would always ask myself.
I practiced smiling in the mirror, so I wouldn’t look so goofy. It worked. I achieved a smile I thought looked cool, sexy even. Later, I would feel that goofy smile creeping along my face. It looks horrible in pictures.
Eventually I noticed I would do it a lot in pictures with my wife. On our wedding, our photographer saw it and said I looked like I was deep in love.
I’ve stopped fighting it.
Lately I’ve been seeing it on my son’s face. Not in scenarios where anyone would think he was in love either. Last time it was in a picture with sunflowers. He’s obsessed with sunflowers.
