i am working on it. i don't have any problem with the bots that reply when you mention them. they don't hurt the UX or clutter main feeds. and i think can be just kinda fun

i'm not sure trying to ban them works. it just becomes a game of whack a mole. i think the way is site wide rules that limit annoying user behavior

I think that having a API key system instead of letting everyone use the API without further tracking would be really cool! Maybe those accounts/posts made/posted using that could be classified as a post account associated with the account that made the API key

this is kind of how it already works with just cookies and tokens that everyone uses on login. im monitoring sus accounts more closely now.

an option is to allow them to post (maybe more restricted) and append a 🤖 to their username. maybe allow filtering out bots

yea you should just add a 🤖 to their username and allow filtering out bots
