The bald man took the daggers, and buried them in the guard's calf before getting up. He screamed, and fell to the ground.

But after a sliced neck, the sound cleared.

You feel extremely tired and weak. You can barely stand up. Healing spells should never be used without external fuel. However, the situation called for it.

"How did you do that?", the man asked, as he took the axe, the daggers, and a bundle of keys from the dead body.

More footsteps. And this time from more people. They're getting closer. "Doesn't matter. Let's go".

He nodded. "I've been here before. I know the way out. Come on".

You walked past unlit candles and cold stone bricks. The whole place felt like it was designed to be a maze, with strange turns and tight hallways. Very little of the space was actually there for cells. Prisoners probably get killed before any more space is needed.

"I wanted to ask you...", you say, slowly recovering from before.

"Why are you here?" 42%

"Ha!", the guard laughs, "magic inhibitors, you fool! No spells can be casted within the dungeon."

Of course, this wasn't completely true. The spell you used before to free yourself worked just fine: The inhibitor probably only restricts the usage of external magic. The aging took from your very own soul to fuel itself. Internal magic.

"Oh yeah? Can it inhibit this?". The man you helped rushed the guard with the long metal pole he had in hand, breaking it in two when it reached the skull of his adversary.

But he was still standing. He grunted, and swung his battle axe in return. The bald man tried to dodge but he was too slow. The blade reached him. And he fell to the ground.

For a moment, there was blood. But it vanished as fast as it came out. «Some sort of healing magic...?»

"Go for the legs!", you yell.

And indeed, a pair of daggers were concealed in the guard's boot.

I'm an anxious-attachement-style anxious-in-general needs-lots-of-reassurance hello-can-i-have-one-vibe-check-please boyfriend.

She's an autistic hard-to-read not-too-into-public-displays-of-affection very-in-her-own-head girlfriend.

We write each-other letters. That works really well! This, alongside long texts, is probably our most effective way of communication when my anxiety and her difficulty to express herself become too much.

There are no signs to indicate that she might be pulling back. Just this week she wrote me a beautiful handwritten love letter for my birthday with a super cute drawing inside, of herself with a birthday cake (she's a baker!).

No bad signs, in fact it's all very solid and beautiful when I take even just one step back to look at us.

"Left to bloom" is the title of one of Minecraft's music, made by Lena Raine.

I find that name absolutely beautiful : an inversion of the more common "Left to rot", its meaning is so… potent !

Being left to rot means either being trapped or abandonned, and slowly decaying.
Invert that, and it means that you're being freed, left to your own devices to slowly grow, to better yourself and the world.

On your own, in both cases, but in the former you're thrown away, while in the latter you're being trusted to make, to improve, to… bloom ❀

It means that someone knew you were good enough, and that given space and time, you'd become something grand, no matter how small.
