most people i see who are antithesis seem to think all religion is inherently harmful, which doesn't make sense to me (being someone religious who does nor impose my beliefs on others), that's what I was trying to ask about with my otiginal post

well, I'd say it's bad for individual and society as a whole. Kinda like alcohol/drugs/tobacco, yet still being legal

because religions:
·oppose people of different views
·slow down societal and technological progress
·often interfere in law and politics
·follow ancient social norms
·'just believe it bro'
·used for societal control
·sometimes justify immoral acts
·most major ones were made thousands of years ago so they have an outdated understanding of the world
·religious censorship
·neglect of modern medicine
·I know we can't explain the whole world rationally but you don't have to
·fundamentalism

this is not an exhaustive list. Although, some of the points aren't that strong or don't apply to all religions, I think they outweigh the 'sense of belonging' and the so called 'meaning of life'
