I bring you here today, another compressed rant about Kids movies!
So to those who missed the last episode, I talked about how the age of your viewer should change how exactly you choose to write your story. The older the viewer, the more life experience you can draw from to make your movie more complex.
Kids movies usually go one of two paths:
- Generic movie with flashing colours and funny jokes.
or
- An absolute masterpiece of cinema.
Think the Lego Movie, Puss in Boots the last wish, or kung fu panda 1-3.
I think these movies are very good for a simple reason.
They kinda have to be straightforward. The morals can be as complicated as you'd like, but how you choose to show that to the audience needs to be direct.
This leads these masterpieces to have a clear purpose, a moral or code that the viewer should uphold. Justice, spirit, family, mortality.
And since its direct, anyone who watches it can recognise the theme, and recognise its value!
Anyways, I've yapped too much, char limit lol.
Take care!
