I am up for display,
I’m playing the game, it’s not in my nature, so I must
Destroy myself to create
A separate face, I’m writhing on stage,
I’m making a name for myself in a tongue I don’t quite understand,
Take me back to my motherland.
I’m trying my best not to be what I am,
Take me back to my motherland!
This human shape is making me
Alien in my own skin, what a waste.
This human cage is breaking me in
With limbs in unnatural places.
I try to keep my head intact,
I bite my nails when they grow back.
I’m trying to keep up the act,
So you don’t suspect a thing, or that I am

I am the spots obscuring vision,
I am the last sound that you hear before you faint,
And I am twisting, turning in this wreck
Of human teeth and silhouette,
I’m nothing but an abstract soul and brain.

Though cursed with human tendencies
To rend apart the bones and meat
Of anything that makes me feel afraid,
I’m twitching in the love I bleed
And crying out for some relief,
My human lips can’t find the shape to rid you of your apathy
