why don't you try translating books then?

Like pick a book in your native language and try to translate it into English, or vice-versa. That way, its harder to feel like you're writing a fanfic because you're just translating a story that isn't yours in the first place. It'll be easier to take it more seriously.

And you can even improve your writing this way without feeling weird about it.
