It's definitely a 2-fold question so makes sense to have an in-between answer!

Sometimes people are great at providing tangible actions in times of need, but are not reliable in terms of verbal emotional support / advice.

On the other hand, some people are great at providing meaningful words and advice, but have no functional actions they can offer in times of need.

There's 2 different ways to look at the question, hence the "why" hehe, so I appreciate you and @epsilon 🌟 's insight (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

I chose straightforward actions !

I can discern people's level of sincerity well and connect/disconnect myself accordingly, especially if I know them / look at them. I also don't go to people for verbal support, because most times I find solutions faster than I can reach out for them !

I value actions more because I see them less. When people do tangible things to show they care, it tends to surprise me because they didn't say anything but noticed and acted anyways (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

That's a good position to have.

I feel like neither "can say the right things but never do things right", nor "can't communicate but does the right things" are ideal on their own. I feel like a balance between the two are necessary.

But if I had to pick one, the reason I pick saying the right thing is because I've grown up to be quite independent in looking for my own solutions, I don't expect, or hope, anyone else will find a solution for me, so as long as someone can make me believe that I have their support and affection, as long as they won't leave me, no matter the result, I'm usually okay with going about solving the problem myself. I just need that reassurance, and words will do that for me.

That makes a lot of sense; If you can do physically do something about it, it's nice to get the validation that the work you put in to be able to get to that point is recognized, respected and appreciated beyond just yourself.

You definitely can't have one without the other if you want be well rounded, so I'm with you on that ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
