I'm using a Pico-Ice board. The same people have a product called Upduino (sp?) and it's cheaper.

Verilog is interesting, and if you have any programming experience it's simultaneously kind of easy and weirdly difficult to comprehend.

Pico-ice looks nice but i was looking more into the computational aspects of fpga's and the heftier artix series

I do have some "experience" with embedded systems and programming in general, which is probably why fpga's seemed so interesting to me. I'll probably buy a little 30 bucks pcie fpga and see what i can do with it...

what kinda stuff have you been able to do with that pico? Seems like an interesting little board

Not much yet. I can get it to light/cycle the on board rgb led. I can also connect the on board button to a color (or multiple colors) of the led.

I'm currently trying to work out how to implement some kind of debounce method. Once I get that working, having it cycle led colors on each rising signal from the button.

Knowing what I know now, I should have gone with the single 'chip' version (Upduino) until I was more comfortable with the language.
