you gotta remember that vocaloid is at the end of the day, an instrument. there aren't really Canon ages. Technically miku has been 16 for like 19 years. She's typically DEPICTED as 16 but she's ageless because shes, well, not a person. yes you can call people making suggestive art of young miku weird and pedos, trust me as a Len fan I've seen plenty of sketchy stuff I've had to ignore, but miku has songs where shes older (as other vocaloids do) and this belief kinda borders on puritan beliefs that sexual=bad and evil degenerates. Miku has sex songs, len has sex songs. likeee they aren't children, their pictures and voice synthesizers. yea there is ways to be weird about it if you specifically depict them as children in art that is sexual, however claiming that they ARE children and that they CANT be sexualized is just fundamentally untrue and your letting yourself get conservative and policing people and drawing conclusions that aren't there.

I love vocaloid songs, I love utau songs, Teto, Miku, Neru, Gumi, and loads of the other voices like who Mothy uses as an example, and I think they're amazing for allowing more creativity in the industry and they're just fun to listen to, and the music videos are so fun, creative and poppy. I love artists who use a mixture of real vocals and virtual-vocals like an instrument, as well as the songs that are 100% sang by the characters.
But I hate the general 'fans'. I hate the fans so much. I hate how they sexualise the characters, you can't go into a general discussion about vocaloids* without a bunch of fucking weirdos saying some weird sexual shit about them. It annoys me, like why people gotta make everything about sex and porn? Even weirder is characters like Miku are modeled as (and canonically) a 15 year old.
It's weird. Bad weird. Fucking gross weird. Horny fucking pedo wanker shit stains on humanity weird. What's worse is I can't even tell if these people are trolls or just genuine pedos. Bastards.
