Reddit has a proven "progressive" bias in the sense that most of the larger communities are moderated that way.
But reddit certainly isnt a monolith. The ability for users to create their own small communities with low oversight to their moderation allows plenty of the edgier and less accepting types of communities to flourish until they get large enough that "normies" will flood in and moderation will receive more oversight from the admins.
reddit has progressive instutions but you're giving a large portion of the userbase too much credit
