If you just want more storage there's an easy fix: installing more storage on your old laptop. Easiest thing to do and if you can find some guides on your specific model it's doable for someone without experience. (and it's so much cheaper than a whole new laptop)

You'll have to check what type of storage you have before buying new storage, different laptops use different types
