3) Finding cheaper and more reliable forms of fuel and transportation. Things like modifying vehicles to make them solar powered, making gasoline out of plastic, or switching to equine transportation.

4) Putting all of these things together into one place for anyone who is struggling or simply wants to join can, making those recourses available, and staying productive to ensure everyone is getting what they need.

We already have the skills, we just need the group willing to put in the work to make it happen. And after a few months, more people will wish they had, so we might as well start now.

these ideas are good, but how do you think they will scale? discarded materials requires someone to discard material to build with, and small scale farming will not be enough to feed even a small town. cheaper fuel is an interesting concept but ultimately doesn't seem to actually do anything (especially as i believe your idea includes still using cars created by capitalist car companies). if the ideas get large enough, will they have the power to fight against the government organizations and companies who will not want to relinquish power, and have large scale industrialized farming, access to materials, and access to the means of production?

And finally, with or without capitalism, we would've become industrialized. Using the parts of today to make a life easier isn't a big deal and it isn't hypocritical; it is using information and resources we didn't have in the past to speed things up and make things easier. To be clear, we are talking about making a community where no one goes hungry, no one is homeless, no one freezes to death at night, capitalism is a world where people define ones worth off of how much they have and in order to have worth, someone else doesn't. That is an already broken system, communism isn't, it just needs a few adjustments to make it better. I would choose a system based on empathy and nature over a system that is manufactured and inherently selfish.

i completely agree that capitalism is a bad system, and that communism is in theory far superior. however, you haven't described how you are to make this community that meets all these goals. the only way is to have access to industrialization, which requires seizing the means of production, which requires giving people power temporarily and hoping they will not keep it, which historically hasn't worked (see the russian revolution, chinese cultural revolution, etc.)

I did describe that, you just didn't like my answer. Not liking something doesn't mean it doesn't do what it does. The examples you brought up had 1 issue from the beginning that explicitly made them not communist, they continued to build a government with influence. True communism is anti-currency, anti-government, antihierarchy.

my issue with generally all your points is that to make them work on a large scale while maintaining people's quality of life, industrialization is required, and it is infeasible to attempt to recreate industrialization as a small community from scratch, so seizing the means of production is inevitable, and i can't think of a way to do that without some form of provisional government. how does your plan address this? i agree that those weren't truly communist, but the cause that the people in the revolution rallied behind was truly communist, and it simply turned not truly communist because of this exact issue that i'm describing

The farming question is also stupid. When it comes to agriculture, it takes 100 men to grow enough food for 10000 men, it always will because most plants grow in surplus, and even if they don't, we grow them in surplus. Things aren't expensive because farming is hard, farmers today constantly complain about how they have to manufacture supply and demand just to stay in business, so do restaurants and food chains, they have to throw food and products away just so they can sell things at a price that is livable, because of the fact that food is so abundant, especially in controlled environments.

100 men can grow enough food for 10000 men only if they have modern infrastructure. If you are attempting to not be reliant on the government or on capitalism, how are you to get industrialization or infrastructure? the only realistic way i can think of (and the only way described in basically all theory) is seizing the means of production, which leads to issues with people having to relinquish power for the system to work. your ideas all seem like they would work for a small commune, but not on a large scale

There is so much trash in the world rn, just so much, more than we could ever hope to do anything with, and people use it to do incredible things all the time, like building homes from discarded car parts, or using clothing scraps to make things people actually use, there is SO much. Theres so many clothes in dumps rn that everyone could stop producing clothing world wide, and there would be 13 times more than enough for everyone in the world to have an equal amount of clothing. And that's just the clothing, thats not even considering the insane amount of discarded plastics and metals, ext. We could all stop production of the 10,000 most discarded items and we would have enough to recycle literally an equal amount of anything for everyone in the world. I'm not thinking of this stuff because it sounds nice, I'm looking at information already available in the world that we as a society can use to make things easier for eachother.

"If you wanna build a communist society to counter a capitalist one, why do you plan on starting it in a capitalist country." Let me just begin with the fact that everyone has to start somewhere. Arguing that people need to start completely from scratch is a part of the problem. You can't, not in a world where everyone depends on capitalism because, incase you looked outside, guess what, the global economy is capitalist. i think you're misunderstanding my argument. i'm not saying that you shouldn't start in a capitalist country and must start from scratch (which would be essentially impossible as you said), but that you should come up with a system that could realistically scale when forced to start in a capitalist country, which i don't believe this system is capable of. maybe i'm just not understanding your plan idk. anyways the effort is commendable but i just don't see this making a big difference. i'd be quite happy to be proven wrong, i agree that capitalism is an extremely flawed system and that we need a new one, i just don't think that this is the new one that would work

yeah i agree that it's better than nothing. i don't think it will work on a large scale but on a small scale the commune model you describe can definitely work and is good. just unfortunate that it leaves most of the world under capitalism

I think it actually would work best in large scale. The more people, the more people that work, the less time people have to work while still generating enough resources for the whole of the community while also having extra, the larger it gets the better it gets because the easier it gets for everyone else.

well firstly i don't see how your math works (e.g. if it take 100 people each working 35 hours a weeks to support 100 people, wouldn't it also take 10000 each working 35 hours a week to support 10000 people? the need for resources and the amount of people are proportional), but also, my main issue with a large scale was the need for industrialization. in small communes, industrialization isn't particularly necessary, but when more people join it is, and i don't see how you will achieve that
