Whatever you decide to do, don't put too much pressure on yourself with deadlines and try to break every step into much smaller steps that are less daunting to start. I don't know if you have the same struggles as me, but getting over that starting barrier has always been my downfall.

in my experuence posting your works on social media is always fun. i picked up blender as a hobby with no experience at all and even my dumb little beginner models got some compliments. as for keeping the hobby alive, maybe several small projects in succession instad of a single big one? then you're more likely to get something finished and keep going. idk, hope this helps :3

I started a social media account for my crochet because I wanted accountability, a reason for continuing projects and not stopping halfway. The goal wasn't to have lots of likes or followers, it was more like a journal for me, and easier to see my progress too. I did it for a year and now post less often but still crocheting consistently. I found what keeps me going and didn't need the crutch of journaling it anymore.

Probably the last person you should listen to on this, I have like 20 projects that I'm not doing at all times and always ready to jump ship, but...

I keep a spreadsheet of all the things I'm interested in and would like to do and when I get lots of spare time suddenly, I consult the sheet to remind myself of something that I could do. Most of the time none of them feel good, but often enough one does and I do that.

I like to make handmade stuff for friends and family, from stuff as small as a card or doodle, all the way up to bigger projects !

Sometimes I don’t have the energy to make stuff for myself, but I certainly will to make others feel special (・∀・)

Setting intentional craft sessions with a friend or group of people is good, or local workshops for things that are expensive to pickup independently

Junk journals are an easy way to be creative with low pressure; just glue shit you find onto a notebook and watch collages organically form !

Logging ideas in a journal helps as well; take pictures of whatever you make and print them out. If you do a lot of projects, having a clear idea of the scope of your work in the form of a book (past and present) is encouraging !

try to explore through internet. i get my inspirations from games and different people's OCs. but also i recommend firstly doing something for yourself and not for someone else. art is firstly for expressing yourself

Ooh a zine sounds cool. Ive been wanting to make one myself but I jjst dont have any ideas for it rn. But if I were to make one, Id drop copies of it all over the city.

You could draw a comic/manga too if you have some story ideas. If you want, you could digitize them and upload on webtoon. Gathering readers would be difficult though since youd havs to promote it yourself.

If you like horror tho, and have story ideas then certain subreddits like nosleep or talesfromthecreeps are great options to have your work be noticed.

Also, if you wanna get into webdev and also express yourself and take part in the indieweb, then try making a neocities page. You can make it about whatever you want and just have fun with it. I really recommend this one because ive made my own so I can attest to how fun it is to make a little space for yourself on the internet.
