I've been watching this website for a while, and I must say it's doing very well, although I do have one consideration I'd like to share.

Ever since the dawn of personal computing, there has been a rivalry between closed-source programs versus inferior open-source projects.

Open source projects have "always" existed as a consumer-friendly option that gives users complete transparency on what the program may be doing behind the scenes.

Fast-forwarding to current year, we find that programs have been transitioning to obfuscated framework based websites.

Now more than ever, we need more websites promoting open source behavior.

Releasing this website as a open-source project can help refer collaborators, and gives it more publicity (people would be ecstatic to see a really well-made open sourcemicro-blogging website)

Other than to exact deter clones of char.social, I don't see that much negatives with making char.social fully free and open-source.

Websites such as Monkeytype and MediaWiki (Wikipedia's base) are open source!

@choom 🌟, can we get the ability to hide our countries? (I know this is against the main ethos behind the website, but occasionally, people don't want others to know where they are at. Yes, you can use a VPN: but the average casual user may not know how to use one)

This may seem like mass-surveillance rather than a useful feature, but what if every @charsocial 🌟 account registered after your "main" account gets shown, this might mitigate bots a little but isn't really moral
