rare NON-stolen motivational quotes #3 okay, this one’s gonna be longer than usual. our family owns a summerhouse in a small town. we don’t have electric heating, so most of the summer is spent cutting up wood logs so they can be stored properly.
to make this easier, we have an wood splitting machine. everyone knows how to use it. hold down 2 levers to make the blade go down, the stronger you push them down, the faster it moves. whenever my brother, my dad, or my uncle are operating it, it always dies at least once while they’re cutting. this happens to everyone. except for me. why? it’s simple, yet noone seems to understand. when you’re pushing down on a piece of a log, you can hear the woodsplitter getting stressed, as it’s using a lot of pressure. despite these sounds, noone stops, if anything they try to pull harder till it dies. meanwhile me, as soon as I hear this overstress, I pause.
I completely stop pulling the levers. instead, I go slowly, I push the levers for a second, then I stop, then push, then stop, rinse and repeat. it takes longer, sure, but there’s no way that a machine forcefully dying every half a minute can be good for it.
why am I talking about this?
because it shows something. forcing pressure onto someone, even if they were “built” for it, even if they like doing it, won’t end well. while it can end with a log split quickly, it can also end with a broken machine. some low amount of pressure can be good, but everything has a limit before it gets overstressed.

@choom 🌟 site update idea: custom fonts! I like the default one, but I'd like to swap out for a different monospaced font, maybe just a select few, or maybe in a way similar to modded discord where you hook up a github repo with the font files? I'm no coder/programmer, no clue how difficult it could be, just an idea :)

I don't really know what to say thank you thank all of you for following and liking this series, I'm surprised I actually managed to keep it going for a whole 100 posts! I plan on continuing this series for as long as possible, that being said, I do have plans for summer vacation, so I'm not sure if the daily posts will keep going non-stop. if there were to be a break/pause I'll definetly let you know. yo, I want to hear your opinions, on every social media I've ever used I have the same username, that being @holmat1 🌟 my dad created it when he was making my roblox account in like 2016 mostly, people online refer to me as holmat, so I'm kinda conflicted. Wherever possible, should I change my username from 'holmat1' to just 'holmat'? I genuienly don't know which one fits better
